Hat

Use thick cotton yarn (black + any other color) and a 3.5 mm hook:

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
  2. Round 2: 6 inc (12)
  3. Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18)
  4. Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (24)
  5. Round 5: Work in the back loops only, 24 sc
    6–8. Round 6–8: 24 sc (3 rounds)
Change color to the second color, don’t cut the yarn.
  6. Round 9: 24 dc
Change back to black, cut the yarn.
  7. Round 10: Work in the back loops only, 24 sc
  8. Round 11: Work in the front loops only, (3 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (30)
  9. Round 12: 30 sc

Close the hat, leaving a long tail for attaching. Sew the hat onto the head using the back loops from round 11. Position the hat slightly to the side, not in the center.

Scarf

Use thick cotton yarn (second color) and a 3.5 mm hook:

  1. Row 1: 71 ch
  2. Row 2: Skip 1 stitch, 70 sc (70)
  3. Row 3: 1 ch, turn, 70 sc (70)

Close the scarf and hide the yarn. Cut a few pieces of yarn and attach them to the ends of the scarf: fold the yarn pieces in half, insert the hook through the scarf, pull the yarn through, and create a loop. Pull both ends through the loop and tighten. Repeat until you have enough details, then trim the yarn to about 2 cm.

Carrot Nose

Use orange cotton yarn and a 2.5 mm hook:

  1. Round 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
  2. Round 2: 6 sc (3 rounds) (6)
  3. Round 3: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 2 (4)

Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Use a needle to thread the yarn through the front loops of the last 4 stitches, pull it to close, and insert the needle into the center of these 4 stitches. Attach the carrot nose to the face, one round below the eyes.

Finishing

  • Use embroidery thread or thin yarn to create a smile and eyebrows.
  • Tint the cheeks with blush.
  • Attach decorative buttons.
