Free Crochet Masterclass: Amigurumi Plush Chicken “Ko-Ko” by Evgenia @kolibelitoys
In this masterclass, you’ll learn how to crochet a cute plush chicken with a hook. For amigurumi crochet, we’ll use YarnArt Dolce Baby (main material), Alize Softy (for the wings), and YarnArt Jeans (for smaller details). For decoration, you can make a collar from fabric, such as tulle, organza, or lace. Note that different details are crocheted with different hook sizes.
The finished toy will be about 15 cm in height.

- YarnArt Dolce Baby: Color 771 (half skein)
- Alize Softy: Color 617 (for wings)
- YarnArt Jeans: Color 84 (for beak and paws), Color 51 (for the crest)
- White cotton thread (for eye whites)
- Hooks:
- 3 mm hook (for the body)
- 2.5 mm hook (for wings)
- 1.75 mm hook (for paws, crest, and beak)

Crochet the Tail
- Chain 4, 3 sc along the chain down, slip stitch in the same stitch, chain 5, 4 sc down the chain, slip stitch in the same stitch, chain 4, 3 sc down the chain, slip stitch in the stitch from which you started.
- Fold the piece and crochet 10 sc.
Stuff with holofiber. Then proceed to crochet the neck and head. Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the row and crochet the remaining sc.

Crochet 2 parts with a 1.75 mm hook.

Crocheting the Wings (2 parts)
- With a 2.5 mm hook, chain 7, then from the second chain from the hook, make 1 increase, 4 sc, 3 sc in one stitch, 4 sc, 2 sc in the last stitch. Mark the beginning of the row.
- In the first stitch, crochet 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 half double crochet, then in the next stitch, 1 slip stitch. Repeat this 3 more times. Cut the thread.
Crocheting the Crest
With a 1.75 mm hook, chain 9, from the second chain from the hook, crochet 1 half double crochet, 1 double crochet, 1 half double crochet, then in the next stitch, 1 slip stitch. Alternate until the end of the row (repeat 3 more times). Secure the thread and cut.
Crocheting the Beak
With a 1.75 mm hook, crochet the beak.

Assembling the Toy
Using matching thread, sew the paws, beak, and crest onto the body. Attach the wings with an uneven edge facing down. Embroider the whites of the eyes with white thread.
