This guide will help you crochet a plush giraffe. For making amigurumi, any plush yarn and an appropriate hook will work. All parts are crocheted in a spiral, and the ears are made with turning rows. The spots on the body are embroidered, and the arms and legs are crocheted into the body.

Finished Toy Size: Approximately 33 cm.

  • Plush yarn: Himalaya Dolphin Baby (80313 – Yellow, 80336 – Brown)
  • Yarn: Gazzal Baby Cotton (3436 – Brown)
  • Crochet hook: 4 mm
  • Safety eyes (16 mm)
  • Toy filler
  • Needle for sewing details
  • Scissors

Crocheting the Plush Giraffe

Arms (2 parts)

Start crocheting with brown yarn.

  1. 6 sc in KА
  2. 6 increases (12)
  3. 12 sc into the back loop (12)
  4. (2 sc, 1 decrease) x 3 (9)

Switch to yellow yarn:
5-10. 9 sc (6 rows)

  1. 7 sc, 1 decrease (8)
    12-13. 8 sc (2 rows)

Crochet 1 additional sc, stuff the arm halfway with filler. Fold the part in half and close the hole with 4 sc. Secure the yarn, cut it, and hide the end inside the arm. Crochet the second arm in the same way.

Legs (2 parts)

Start crocheting with brown yarn.

  1. Make a chain of 5, crochet 3 sc into the second stitch from the hook, 3 sc into one stitch. Turn and crochet 2 sc, 3 sc into one stitch (11)
  2. 11 increases (22)
  3. 22 sc into the back loops (22)
  4. 4 sc, 1 decrease, (2 sc, 1 decrease) x 2, 4 sc, 1 decrease, 2 sc (18)
  5. 9 sc, 1 decrease, 7 sc (17)

Switch to yellow yarn:

  1. 17 sc
  2. 1 decrease, 6 sc, 1 decrease, 7 sc (15)
  3. 7 sc, 1 decrease, 6 sc (14)
  4. 7 sc, 1 decrease, 5 sc (13)
    10-11. 13 sc (2 rows)

Crochet 3 more sc. Stuff the leg halfway with filler. Fold the part in half and crochet 5 sc to close the hole. Secure the yarn, cut it, and hide the end inside the leg.
