Pochacco Free Pattern

 

Materials Needed

• Yarn: Brown, white, and yellow cotton yarn.
• Crochet Hook: Appropriate size for the yarn (usually 2.5 mm or 3 mm).
• Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill.
• Yarn Needle.
• Scissors.
• Stitch Marker.

Ears (Make 2) - Brown Yarn

1. R1: Chain 8. Turn and starting from the second chain from the hook, make 7 SC (7).
2. R2: Chain 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, 3 SC, 1 DEC (5).
3. R3: Chain 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, 1 SC, 1 DEC, skip 1 stitch, 2 SC (4).
4. R4: Chain 1, turn, skip 1 stitch, 1 SC, 1 DEC, 1 SC (3).
5. R5: Chain 1, turn, 1 SC, skip 1 stitch, 1 SC, slip stitch to finish off.

Note: After completing each ear, slip stitch around the edges of the ear to create a neat border. Leave a long tail for sewing the ears to the head later.

Feet (Make 4) - White Yarn

1. R1: 6 SC in Magic Ring (6).
2. R2: 1 SC in each stitch around (6).
3. R3: (2 SC, 1 INC) x 2, 1 SC (8).

Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.

Body - Yellow and Brown Yarn

1. R1: Chain 6, turn, and starting from the second chain from the hook, make 4 SC, 1 INC, turn, and work on the opposite side of the chain, 3 SC, 1 INC (12).
2. R2: 1 INC, 3 SC, 3 INC, 3 SC, 2 INC (18).
3. R3: (1 SC, 1 INC) x 3, 3 SC, (1 SC, 1 INC) x 3, 3 SC, (1 SC, 1 INC) x 2 (24).
4. R4: (2 SC, 1 INC) x 3, 3 SC, (2 SC, 1 INC) x 3, 3 SC, (2 SC, 1 INC) x 2 (30).
5. R5: 3 SC, (1 INC, 3 SC) x 3, 3 SC, 3 SC, 5 SC, attach the first foot and SC across, 5 SC, attach the second foot and SC across, continue to the end of the round.

Continue to increase and shape the body until the desired length is achieved.

Heart-Shaped Tail (Optional)

1. Chain 3, make 3 HDC in the first chain.
2. Chain 1, 1 DC in the same stitch.
3. Chain 1, 3 HDC in the same stitch.
4. Chain 3, slip stitch to finish off.

Attach the heart-shaped tail to the back of the body.

Round Tail - Brown Yarn

1. R1: 6 SC in Magic Ring (6).
2. R2: 6 INC (12).
3. R3-R4: 1 SC in each stitch around (12).
4. R5: 6 DEC (6).

Stuff the tail lightly and sew it to the back of the body.

Assembly

• Ears: Attach the ears to the top of Pochacco’s head, ensuring they are evenly spaced.
• Feet: Sew the feet to the bottom of the body, making sure they are symmetrically placed.
• Tail: Attach the round or heart-shaped tail to the back of the body.
• Details: Use black yarn to embroider Pochacco’s eyes, mouth, and other facial features as desired.
