Clovis Duck Crochet Pattern

Materials and Size Recommendations:

  • 3mm crochet hook
  • 6mm safety eyes
  • Example used: Mallard Duck

Stitches Key:

Head (Green Yarn)

  1. R1: 6 sc in a magic ring. (6)
  2. R2: 6 inc. (12)
  3. R3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6. (18)
  4. R4: 18 sc. (18)
  5. R5: (1 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc) x 6. (24)
  6. R6: 24 sc. (24)

Mark the 17th and 25th stitches of R11, and insert the safety eyes in these positions.

Beak (Yellow Yarn)

  1. R1: 6 ch, starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, 2 sc, 4 sc, 1 inc, 3 sc, 1 inc. (12)

  3. R3: 2 sc, 2 inc, 8 sc. (14)

Leave a long tail and cut the yarn.

Feet (Make 2 - Orange Yarn)

  1. R1: 4 sc in a magic ring. (4)
  2. R2: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 2. (6)
  3. R3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 3. (9)
  4. R4-5: 9 sc. (9)
  5. Flatten and crochet 2 layers together: R6: (1 sc, 2 ch, 1 sc) x 3, sl st to finish.

Assembly and Sewing

  1. Attach the beak at the upper part of the head, between the eyes.
  2. Sew the legs and feet together, then attach the legs to the bottom of the body.
  3. You can also attach the feet directly to the body if preferred, without attaching legs.
  4. Sew the wings to each side of the body, making sure they are symmetrical.

This completes the assembly of the Clovis Duck!
