White Plush Owl Free Pattern


 

Materials:

  • Alize Softy yarn – 2-3 skeins in the main color (crochet using two threads) and enough additional color for decoration. Or Alize Softy Plus – 1 skein of the main color (crochet using one thread). The white owl is crocheted with Alize Softy Plus, using a 3.5 mm hook. The chocolate owl is crocheted with Alize Softy using two threads, with a 3.5 mm hook. Or use any other yarn.
  • Hook #4mm, #3.5mm, or #3mm (I use #3.5mm)
  • A pair of 20 mm plastic or glass safety eyes (I use glass)
  • Hook #1.5mm for the feet and beak
  • YarnArt Jeans for the beak and feet
  • Two 6 cm wooden discs, a 3 cm cotter pin, or a 6 cm plastic joint, pliers
  • Scissors
  • Long needle
  • Stuffing (hollow fiber, synthetic balls, etc.)

Head (Main color yarn, 3.5 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 7 sc in AM
  2. Rnd 2: 7 inc (14 sc)
  3. Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 7 (21 sc)
  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 7 (28 sc)
  5. Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) * 7 (35 sc)
  6. Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) * 7 (42 sc)
  7. Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) * 7 (49 sc)
  8. Rnd 8-12: 49 sc (5 rounds)
  9. Rnd 13: Place eye markers at 22 sc, 28 sc (49 sc)
  10. Rnd 14-15: 49 sc (2 rounds)
  11. Rnd 16: (5 sc, dec) * 7 (42 sc)
  12. Rnd 17: (5 sc, dec) * 6 (36 sc)
  13. Insert the eyes at the marked positions. There should be 5 sc between the eyes.
  14. Rnd 18: (4 sc, dec) * 6 (30 sc)

  17. Stuff the piece firmly, paying special attention to the cheeks. Distribute the stuffing evenly around the circumference. Insert the disc or joint; do not add more stuffing. If you don't want to use pin fastening, continue crocheting according to the pattern, stuffing the part as you go.

Owl Beak (Optional color yarn, cotton yarn, 1.5 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in AM
  2. Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) * 3 (9 sc)
  3. Rnd 3: (2 sc, inc) * 3 (12 sc)
  4. Rnd 4: 12 sc
  5. Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) * 3 (15 sc)
  6. Fold the part in half and crochet 7 sc through both layers. Cut the yarn, fasten off, leaving the end for sewing. Sew the beak to the head. You can make the beak as shown in photo 2. The pattern is the same, but don't crochet 7 sc together. For this type of beak, add some stuffing.

Ears (Make 2, main color yarn, 3 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in AM
  2. Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) * 3 (9 sc)
  3. Rnd 3: 9 sc
  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 3 (12 sc)
  5. Cut the yarn, fasten off, leaving the end for sewing. Sew the ears to the head.

Body (Main color yarn, 3.5 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 7 sc in AM
  2. Rnd 2: 7 inc (14 sc)
  3. Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) * 7 (21 sc)
  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 7 (28 sc)
  5. Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) * 7 (35 sc)
  6. Rnd 6: (4 sc, inc) * 7 (42 sc)
  7. Rnd 7-11: 42 sc (5 rounds)
  8. Rnd 12: 15 sc, (1 sc, inc) * 6, 15 sc (48 sc)
  9. At this stage, connect the body and head. Secure the disc with a cotter pin using pliers.
  10. Rnd 13-22: 48 sc (10 rounds)
  11. Rnd 23: (6 sc, dec) * 6 (42 sc)
  12. Rnd 24: (5 sc, dec) * 6 (36 sc)

  4. Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) * 6 (24 sc)
  5. Rnd 5-7: 24 sc (3 rounds)
  6. Rnd 8: (6 sc, dec) * 3 (21 sc)
  7. Rnd 9: (5 sc, dec) * 3 (18 sc)
  8. Rnd 10: (7 sc, dec) * 2 (16 sc)
  9. Rnd 11: (6 sc, dec) * 2 (14 sc)

  15. Do not stuff the wings. Cut the yarn, fasten off, and close the hole. Sew the wings to the body. I sew the wings around the circumference, from row 7 to row 7, placing them 1-2 rows below the head.

Tail (Main or additional color, 3.5 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 5 sc in AM, ch, turn
  2. Rnd 2: 2 sc, in one loop: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc), 2 sc, ch, turn
  3. Rnd 3: inc, 2 sc, in one loop: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc), 2 sc, inc, ch, turn
  4. Rnd 4: inc, 4 sc, in one loop: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc), 4 sc, inc, ch, turn
  5. Rnd 5: inc, 6 sc, in one loop: (1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc), 6 sc, inc, ch, turn
  6. Continue crocheting without chains on the third side of the tail. Crochet 10 sc, join with a sl st in the first column of row 5. Cut the yarn, fasten off, leaving the end for sewing. Sew the tail to the body.

Feet (Make 2):

Toes (Optional color, cotton yarn, 1.5 mm hook):

  1. Rnd 1: 6 sc in AM
  2. Rnd 2: 6 inc (12 sc)
  3. Rnd 3-10: 12 sc (8 rounds)
  4. Stuff up to row 5. Do not stuff the rest. For the first toe, cut the yarn, fasten off, hide the end. For the second toe, do not cut the yarn, continue crocheting the foot:
  5. Rnd 1: 12 sc in the first toe, 12 sc in the second toe (24 sc)
  6. Rnd 2: 24 sc
  7. Rnd 3: (2 sc, dec) * 6 (18 sc)
  8. Rnd 4: (4 sc, dec) * 3 (15 sc)
  9. Rnd 5: (3 sc, dec) * 3 (12 sc)
  10. Rnd 6: 6 dec
  11. Cut the yarn, fasten off, close the hole, hide the end. Sew the feet to the body.

Embroider feathers on the snout and belly. Decorate the owl as you like. Your crocheted owl is ready!
