Unicorn Free Pattern


 

Materials:

  • Yarn of your choice (Main color for body, contrasting color for horn and mane)
  • Crochet hook appropriate to your yarn's weight
  • Stuffing
  • Safety eyes
  • Yarn needle

Body:

  1. Start with a magic circle and crochet 6 Single Crochet (SC) in the circle.
  2. Increase (Inc) in each stitch around (12).
  3. (SC, Inc) x6 (18).
  4. (SC 2, Inc) x6 (24).
  5. SC around for 15-20 rows, based on the size you prefer. Begin decreasing, follow the pattern:
    • (SC 2, Invisible Decrease (Dec)) x 6 (18).
    • (SC, Dec) x 6 (12). Start stuffing the body.
    • Dec x 6 (6). Finish stuffing, cut yarn, fasten off and sew close.

Head:

  1. Repeat the first four steps of the Body instructions for the head.
  2. SC for an additional 10-15 rows. Start decreasing when the head is half the size of the body.
  3. Follow the decrease pattern just as for the body part, fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Legs: (Make 4)

  1. Magic Circle, 6 SC in a circle.
  2. Inc around (12).
  3. (SC, Inc) x6 (18).
  4. SC around for 15 rows.
  5. Begin decreases and stuff leg until closed. Cut yarn and leave a tail for sewing.

Horn:

  1. Magic Circle, 4 SC in a circle.
  2. SC around for 10 rows. Slightly stuff and leave a tail for sewing to the head.

Mane and Tail:

  1. Cut several strands of your contrasting color yarn and attach them to the head and end of the body respectively by folding each strand in half, inserting the folded end into a stitch, then pulling the free ends through the loop.
