Materials

• Yarn (brown, beige, green)
• 1.5 mm crochet hook
• 3 mm plastic eyes
• Stuffing, needle, pins, scissors

Finished size: 8 cm

• ch – chain

Turtle

Head

Yarn color: Green

1. 6 sc in MR
2. 6 inc (12)
3. (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
5. Rows 5-10: 24 sc (6 rows)
6. (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
7. (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
8. Stuff the head.
9. 6 dec, finish off, weave in the ends.

Legs (make 4)

Yarn color: Green

1. 6 sc in MR
2. (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)
3. Rows 3-4: 9 sc (2 rows)
4. Do not stuff. Finish off, leaving a tail for sewing.
5. Fold the leg in half and sew the edges together.

Shell

Yarn color: Brown

1. 6 sc in MR

5. Stuff the shell.
6. (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
7. 6 dec, finish off, weave in the ends.
8. Attach brown yarn to the stitches of row 12, chain 2, and crochet hdc around, ending with a sl st.

Tail

Yarn color: Green

1. Attach green yarn under the shell, at the back.
2. Ch 5, starting from the 2nd chain: 2 sl st, sc, hdc, sl st into the base.
3. Finish off, weave in the ends.

Shell Embroidery

Using a lighter brown yarn, embroider around the shell between rows 5 and 6, and rows 10 and 11. Then, make vertical stitches between the horizontal lines.

Assembly

1. Attach the eyes between rows 8 and 9, leaving 9 stitches between them.
2. Embroider a smile on row 11, 5 stitches wide.
3. Sew the head to the shell.
4. Sew the legs to the sides of the body.
