- Ruffle: 1 CH, SL ST, 1 CH, SL ST in the next stitch, 1 CH, SL ST, and so on until the end of the row.
Do not cut the yarn; move to the side of the dress and crochet around it with SC, finishing with 36 CH (the first tie). Cut the yarn, tie a knot at the end.
For the second strap, start with 36 CH, then join the hook to the upper part of the side of the dress and crochet around it with SC. Cut the yarn, hide the end.
Petals of the Dress:
Return to the 15th row, attach yellow yarn, and start crocheting in turning rows:
- In front loops only: 68 SC
- CH 10, skip one stitch, SL ST into the next (creating an arch), repeat to the end of the row.
- In each arch: (1 SC, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 1 SC), SL ST into the next stitch of the previous row. Cut and secure the yarn.
If desired, the petals can be ironed to prevent them from curling upwards.
Leaf:
Chain 13. Start crocheting along the first side of the chain:
SL ST into the 2nd chain, SC, HDC, 2 DC, INC of 2 TR, TR, INC of 2 TR, 2 DC, HDC, SC, SL ST. Move to the other side of the chain and crochet: SC, HDC, 2 DC, INC of 2 TR, TR, INC of 2 TR, 2 DC, HDC, SC, SL ST.
Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing. Each leaf should have two tails on opposite sides. Crochet 8 such leaves.
Sew the leaves directly under the dress's petals. Make a few stitches for the top part and a few for the bottom. (I don't sew them all around).
To prevent them from sticking out, you can sew them down at a few side points. Additionally, make a couple of loops for buttons on the back of the dress, and attach buttons on the other side.
Sunflower for the Head:
Start crocheting with brown yarn:
- 6 SC in MR
- 6 INC (12)
- (1 SC, INC) x 6 (18)
- (2 SC, INC) x 6 (24)
- (3 SC, INC) x 6 (30), at the end of the round, change to yellow yarn.
Crochet the same type of arches as on the dress: CH 10, skip one stitch, SL ST in the next, repeat to the end of the round.
In each arch: (1 SC, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 2 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC, 1 SC), SL ST into the next stitch of the previous row. Cut and secure the yarn.
Attach the yellow yarn to the inner side of the sunflower (near the center) and crochet a tie (about 70 CH; adjust length to fit the head and tie a bow at the back). Crochet the second tie the same way on the opposite side.
