Majestic Ship - Assembly
Place and sew the bowsprit along the bow of the ship.
Roll the top edge of the bowsprit around itself and sew it in this position.
Hold the ship with the left side of the hull facing you. Draw an imaginary straight line from the stern edge downwards and position the first porthole so that its right edge aligns with this straight line. Position the other two portholes at an equal distance from the first one. Sew the portholes with the ends of nut brown yarn using the remaining blue back loops. To hide the blue color yarn in the sewing place, wrap the end of nut brown yarn around the porthole two times and fasten off.
Turn the ship with the right side of the hull facing you. Position and sew the three cannons symmetrically in the same way as the portholes. Do not wrap the end of nut brown yarn around the cannons.
Draw an imaginary straight line from one side to the other side of the hull right at the center of the 11 stitches that we left between the stern and the bow and position the mast so that its back edge aligns with this straight line. Sew the mast with the end of yarn, making a seam around it as you go.
Place and sew the flag at the top of the mast pointing backwards.
Now we need to sew the emblem of the Jolly Roger on the sail. Place the skull on the center of the sail. Sew the skull along the edge with a mattress stitch. Place the half bones symmetrically on the four sides of the skull and fasten them with pins. Sew the bones along the edge with a mattress stitch.
Find the center on the top and the bottom edges of the sail. Position the center of the bottom edge of the sail on the deck, with the right side of the sail (with the Jolly Roger emblem facing downwards). Pull the bottom edge upwards, so that its front side is positioned against the mast. Sew the center of the bottom edge along the dotted line.
Unfold the sail and position the top center on the mast right under the flag. Sew the top center with the wrong side facing the mast. There is no need to turn the top edge downwards so that its front side is positioned against the mast, we do this only on the bottom edge.
The edges of the stern and sails can curl in on themselves, this is normal, just straighten them with your fingers. And it might also be that the bottom of the ship is not flat enough, this is okay for crochet toys.
