  • Round 5: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 5 (15 sc)
  • Round 6: 1 sc in each stitch around (15 sc)

  • Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing. Fold the bottom part of each ear and sew to give a nicer shape. Repeat for the second ear. Attach both ears to the top of the head.

Legs (make 2)

  • Leg A
    • Round 1: With caramel yarn, make 6 sc in a magic ring.
    • Round 2: 1 inc in each stitch around (12 sc)
    • Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18 sc)
    • Round 4: (2 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (24 sc)
    • Round 5: Working in the back loops only, sc in each stitch around (24 sc). Change to white yarn.
    • Rounds 6 to 7: 1 sc in each stitch around (24 sc)
    • Round 8: (2 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (18 sc)
    • Rounds 9 to 10: 1 sc in each stitch around (18 sc)
    • Round 11: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (12 sc)
    • Round 12: 1 sc in each stitch around (12 sc)
    • Cut yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.
  • Leg B
    • Repeat the same steps as for Leg A, but do not cut the yarn. Attach Leg B to Leg A using chains to join and continue with the body.

Body

  • Continue working in a spiral, adding the legs as described above. Rely on the pattern to continue creating the body.

Arms (make 2)

  • Round 1: With white yarn, make 6 sc in a magic ring.
  • Round 2: 1 inc in each stitch around (12 sc)
  • Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) x 6 (18 sc)
  • Rounds 4 to 5: 1 sc in each stitch around (18 sc)
  • Round 6: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (12 sc)
  • Rounds 7 to 18: 1 sc in each stitch around (12 sc)
  • Round 19: (7 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (48 sc)

Poncho

  • Round 1: With light yellow, start with a foundation chain of 36 chains, join with a slip stitch. Chain 4, make 1 dc in the same stitch. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 17 chains. In the next chain, make (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in the same space. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 17 chains and join with a slip stitch in the 2nd ch of the initial 4 chains. Cut yarn and switch to bubblegum pink.
  • Round 2: With bubblegum pink, join with a slip stitch in one of the 2 ch spaces from the previous round and make 4 ch, 1 dc in the same space. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 19 dc. In the 2 ch space, make (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in the same space. Finish with 1 dc in each of the next 19 dc and join with a slip stitch in the 2nd ch of the initial 4 ch. Cut yarn and switch to aqua green.
  • Round 3: With aqua green, join with a slip stitch in one of the 2 ch spaces from the previous round and make 4 ch, 1 dc in the same space. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 21 dc. In the 2 ch space, make (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in the same space. Finish with 1 dc in each of the next 21 dc and join with a slip stitch in the 2nd ch of the initial 4 ch. Cut yarn and switch to mustard.
  • Round 4: With mustard, join with a slip stitch in one of the 2 ch spaces from the previous round and make 4 ch, 1 dc in the same space. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 23 dc. In the 2 ch space, make (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in the same space. Finish with 1 dc in each of the next 23 dc and join with a slip stitch in the 2nd ch of the initial 4 ch. Cut yarn and switch to white.
  • Round 5: With white, join with a slip stitch in one of the 2 ch spaces from the previous round and make 4 ch, 1 dc in the same space. Continue with 1 dc in each of the next 25 dc. In the 2 ch space, make (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in the same space. Finish with 1 dc in each of the next 25 dc and join with a slip stitch in the 2nd ch of the initial 4 ch. Cut yarn and weave in all ends.

Assembly:

  1. Head: Attach the safety eyes to the head between rounds 10 and 11, about 6 stitches apart. Stuff the head lightly with siliconized fiberfill. Position and sew the head onto the body.
  2. Ears: Fold each ear as described earlier and sew them onto the top of the head.
  3. Legs: Position the legs at the bottom of the body, ensuring they are evenly spaced. Sew them securely.
  4. Arms: Attach the arms to the sides of the body, positioning them evenly. Sew them in place.
  5. Poncho: Drape the poncho over the body and adjust the fit. Sew the poncho securely around the neck and shoulders.
  6. Finishing Touches: Ensure all parts are securely attached and weave in any loose yarn ends.
