Dress for the Pig (Knitted with Needles)

Cast on 30 stitches.

Distribute for raglan: 5, 1, 3, 1, 10, 1, 3, 1, 5.

  1. First row: 1×1 ribbing.
  2. Second row: all purl stitches. Start making increases by yarn overs on both sides of the middle stitch as follows: yarn over towards you, knit 1, yarn over away from you.
3-8 (10) rows: follow the pattern, making increases in each row (7-9 increases).
9-11 (11) rows: knit without increases. In row 11, where the sleeves are, knit 1×1 ribbing.
  3. Bind off the stitches for the sleeves, then continue following the pattern.
  4. Knit 14 knit stitches, 2 together, knit the front, 2 together, 14 knit stitches.
  5. Purl row.
  6. Knit 15, double the stitches in the front by knitting into each stitch (15 knit, (increase, yarn over) repeat until the end of the front section, 15 knit).
  7. Purl row.
  8. Join the work into a round and distribute the stitches onto 3 or 4 needles.
  9. Knit until the desired length (about 15-17 rows).
Bind off the bottom. Without cutting the yarn, crochet a single crochet border around the bottom of the dress.
Place it on the toy, or sew it on the back, or make a buttonhole. Decorate as desired. I make a decorative stitch for the belt and crochet a flower as per the provided pattern.
