Turn raw bacon strips into an addictive like ‘crack’ treat with just 4 ingredients

Ingredients & Directions:

Crack Maple Bacon Flatbread

This recipe uses four basic ingredients—puff pastry, bacon, maple syrup, and brown sugar—to create a flatbread that is both sweet and savory, and you won’t be able to resist it. To ensure consistent baking, puncture the buttery puff pastry well before filling it with crisp bacon and sweet maple syrup. This flatbread is ideal for a game day snack or hors d’oeuvre, and it tastes great both warm and cold. To add some savoriness to this mixture, crumbled blue cheese or goat cheese is a terrific alternative!

  • 1 pound bacon
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  1. Cook the Bacon:
  • Arrange the bacon on a rack set atop a baking sheet coated with aluminum foil. Bake the bacon for 20 minutes or until it becomes crispy. Set the bacon aside to cool after taking it out of the oven.
  1. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
  • Roll out the puff pastry and score it all over with a fork to prevent it from rising too much while baking. Pour half of the maple syrup over the top and sprinkle with half of the brown sugar.
  1. Add the Toppings:
  • Crumble the cooled bacon into small pieces and spread it over the puff pastry. Pour the remaining maple syrup over the bacon and sprinkle with the remaining brown sugar.
  1. Bake the Flatbread:
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. After taking it out of the oven, let it cool slightly before using a pizza cutter to cut it into bite-sized triangles.

Enjoy your Crack Maple Bacon Flatbread warm or cold!
